Trimming your wooden wick is a very important step in proper candle care. Use the wick trimmer to trim the black burnt portion of your wick down as much as possible so there isn't much black on the wick. Using your fingers to pull off the black burnt portion is also an option, but for the perfect trim, we always suggest wick trimmers!
